DECA Accepts Australian Dollar Stablecoins for Membership and Sponsorship Payments
April 2026
The Digital Economy Council of Australia (DECA) has received its first membership payment using an Australian dollar stablecoin, completed in AUDF via Cointree.
DECA now accepts Australian dollar stablecoins for membership and sponsorship payments, marking a practical shift toward their use in standard business operations. This reflects the increasing maturity of blockchain-based payment infrastructure and the role stablecoins are beginning to play in settlement, liquidity and financial coordination.
As the peak industry body representing businesses across the digital economy, DECA continues to support innovation grounded in real-world application. Stablecoin issuers including AUDD, AUDF and AUDM form part of our membership, and we welcome members choosing to transact using Australian dollar stablecoins as part of their engagement.
Amy-Rose Goodey, CEO at DECA said “Our role is to support the ecosystem as it evolves. This includes enabling practical use of emerging payment infrastructure in a way that reflects the breadth of our membership and the direction of the industry.”
This milestone signals continued progress in embedding digital asset infrastructure into Australia’s financial system through practical, observable use.
“As an Australian-owned exchange, we’re proud to support initiatives that strengthen local digital payment infrastructure. DECA’s adoption of AUDF shows how Australian-backed stablecoins can support industry growth while maintaining strong regulatory standards,” said Jess Renden, CEO of Cointree.
